Leonardo DiCaprio to Play 19th Century Serial Killer in New Scorsese Film

Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play prolific 19th century serial killer Dr. H.H. Holmes in a movie directed by long-time collaborator Martin Scorsese. To be based upon Erik Larson’s 2003 non-fiction book The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic and Madness at the Fair That Changed America, which DiCaprio bought the rights to way back in 2010, the film will be produced by Paramount after a long, strung-out bidding war with Twentieth Century Fox and Universal. The project, which will be DiCaprio and Scorsese's sixth together, is set to be scripted by Captain Phillips screenwriter Billy Ray.
